A Letter from the Artistic Director
Dear Friends of Starry Night Repertory Theatre,
One year ago, our Board of Directors decided to put Starry Night Rep on hiatus for one year in order to evaluate and determine the best future path for the company. No one could have predicted that a pandemic would close all theatres around the world. I am writing today to let you know that our future path is as obscure as ever in these unprecedented and challenging times.
I have been watching a series of webinars and following social media to see how theatres are coping with this situation. It seems all companies, both large and small, are reconsidering the work they have been doing. Each one is evaluating its mission and connection to the community. Starry Night continues its own self-examination, but it is evident that we cannot produce theatre until the pandemic is under control.
As we chart our future path, we remember the wonderful work that we shared with you—our audience, and the Macomb community of artists. When we know when and where we can continue that work, we will be sure to let you know. In the meantime, we hope you remain safe and well.
Jeannie Marlin Woods, Artistic Director
